The CDS Alert Emergency Radio Program provides our participants with the most up-to-the-minute information about emergencies happening throughout the New York City metropolitan area.

Obtaining a continuous flow of information from multiple federal, state and local law enforcement, emergency service agencies, and security concerns, CDS Alert provides you with updates and information from the scene of an incident.

Interoperability
Interoperability allows you to receive information from the source. When you need to know more about an incident, you can contact the CDS dispatcher and request additional information. By reports coming from the scene, our dispatchers are able to answer your questions and share the facts that you need.

Also, our dispatchers put into plain, everyday English the information relayed by emergency service agencies. You do not have to learn codes or jargon to understand what is happening or what measures are being taken to assist those in need.

What you do NOT get with CDS Alert
When you are a participant on CDS Alert you get the best, most current and most accurate information available. What you do not get is aimless chatter. We do not broadcast inconsequential information. We want you to know that what you hear on your radio is important, current information, not every minor occurrence. On a good day in New York City, your radio is quiet. On a bad day, the flow of information is near continuous.

To learn more, or learn to become a participant, contact us at (718) 763-3000 or info@cdsny.org
